WHOOOO’s excited about super scarves?! You have to check out the latest trend in Fall yarn fashion! The extra-long, over-sized scarves can be worn several ways and are not only but cozy stylish as well! I set out to create my own crocheted super scarf and decided to put a fun little design element to it: OWLS! If you are owl-obsessed like me, this owl super scarf is for you. Made with Bernat Softee Chunky yarn, you start with a simple crocheted owl and then move into a v-stitch pattern that works up quickly! Size: 8 inch wide x 100 inches long

Materials:
– Bernat Softee Chunky Yarn
Emerald (5 skeins)
Seagreen (2 skeins)
Natural (1 skein)
Glowing Gold (1 skein)
White (1/2 skein) – optional… you can use natural for the owl eyes instead of white.
– Size H crochet hook
– 2 black buttons
– Large tapestry needle

You will make two halves of the scarf and stitch them together.

Owl Super Scarf (make 2):
With natural color yarn
Magic ring, 2 chain and make 14 DC in ring, join to first DC, chain 1
Round 2: 2 SC in each stitch around, join, chain 1 ( 28 SC)
Change to seagreen color
Round 3: 2 SC, skip 1 stitch, 2 SC in next, repeat around, join to first SC, chain 1 ( 28 SC)
Round 4: SC in first, chain 2, SC in next, chain 2, SC in next, repeat around, join
Round 5: slip stitch over one so you are working into first chain space, chain 3 (counts as first DC) 2 DC, chain 1, 3 DC in next chain space, chain 1, 3 DC in next chain space, repeat around, join to top of first DC, fasten off, weave in ends.
emerald green With
Round 6: join to first chain space with a SC, chain 4, skip over 3 DC stitches from previous round and SC in next chain space, chain 4, SC in next chain space, repeat around, join

Round 7: slip stitch over one so you are working in the chain 4 space, chain 3 (counts as first DC) and make 3 DC chain in space, chain 1, 4 DC in next chain space, chain 1, repeat around, join to top of first DC. Do not make any chains.
Round 8: make 6 DC in 3rd DC of each DC set to create a scallop, SC chain in space, 6 DC in 3rd DC, SC chain in space, repeat until you’ve made 10 scallops. Do not fasten off.

Now we are going to work in rows

Row 1: chain 3 (you should be in SC of the chain space), DC in next two stitches, HDC in next, SC in next 10 stitches (skip over the chain spaces), HDC in next, 2 DC in last two stitches and make one more DC in the SC in the chain space, chain 3, turn
Row 2: v-stitch in next stitch (not the same as your stitch chain 3), skip one stitch, v-stitch in next, repeat until you get to the last two stitches. Skip to 2nd last stitch and make a DC in last. You should now have a total of a chain 3 (counts as a dc), 8 v-stitches, and one DC, chain 3, turn
Row 3: v-stitch in all v-stitches from previous row, DC in top of chain 3, chain 3, turn
Repeat row 3 in color pattern until you reach 50 дюймів.

You will want to end after 3 rows of emerald on one scarf, and 4 rows of emerald on the 2nd piece of the scarf so when you stitch it together, the pattern will look seamless. Stitch two pieces together with the mattress stitch.

Eyes (make 2):
With white (or natural) yarn
Magic ring, chain 2, make 12 DC in ring, join to first DC, chain 1
Round 2: 2 SC in each stitch around.
Fasten off leaving long tail to sew onto owl body.
Attach button eyes before sewing onto owl.

Nose:
With gold yarn
Chain 5, SC in 2nd chain from hook, HDC in next, DC in last two, fasten off leaving long tail to sew onto owl body

Pom-pom Feet:
With gold yarn
Wrap yarn around 4 fingers 60 times.
Tie in middle tightly. Trim. Tie in between scallops at bottom of owl.
